The '''Math Emporium''' or '''Empo''' is was a large computer lab operated by Virginia Tech. It opened in 1997 with the aim of improving learning outcomes in high-enrollment math courses. Since the fall of 2009opening in 1997, it has had [[lockers]]. Some students find the use of Comic Sans on their quizzes and practice material jarring.

Many freshman-level math courses were taught online through the Math Emporium. Some students found the use of ''Comic Sans'' on their quizzes and practice material for these classes jarring, and resorted to uninstalling that font in order to force their browsers to choose a different one. {{Map|loc=37.23310,-80.43420|zoom=17}} ==External Links==
