Gobblerpedia is a community-made repository of free information about Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, and the surrounding area. While this wiki isn't necessarily restricted to Virginia Tech, it can be expected that much of the content will focus specifically on the university.

Selected Articles

Status

Gobblerpedia has been online since Friday, February 11th. Please add (or import from an appropriately licensed source) any information you think might be worth sharing. The contents of this wiki are slowly being populated with content from the LUUG Wiki and Wikipedia. Work is also ongoing on templates that will ease the documentation of common classes of articles, such as courses, textbooks, and departments.

Logo Contest

While the current logo is functional and properly symbolic, it could use improved uniformity and styling. If you submit a nicer version of the current logo, or a better logo, you can win comestibles to be negotiated (e.g. beer or pizza).

Editing

Be bold. During the initial growth phase, write first and ask questions later. As for guidelines, no hard rules are yet in place.

It is preferable to use proper names as the main page for an article and redirect with any abbreviations or nicknames. Also, Virginia Tech is the assumed namespace, if you will. Leaving off "at Virginia Tech" is an easy way to keep article names short. If you are looking for guidlines, Wikipedia's conventions and the University Style Guide are the best starting points.
