Although the Virginia Tech data center has high-bandwidth fiber connections to the [[National Lambda RailLambdaRail]], [[Internet2]], and commodity internet, Blacksburg has an extremely limited selection of residential-class Internet Service Providers. Municipal fiber and T1 were originally deployed by [[Blacksburg Electronic Village]], but BEV no longer accepts new customers.
