Sporn Award

The College of Engineering Sporn Award is given annually to an engineering faculty member who has demonstrated excellence in undergraduate instruction. The award is administered by the Awards and Scholarships committee of the Student Engineers' Council (SEC), with the final vote cast by the General Assembly of the SEC. Plaques naming each recipient reside in the Dean's office in Torgersen Hall beside the plaques for the Wine Award. While websites such as Rate VT Teachers and Koofers have historically been used to determine the best professor to pick for a given class, the Sporn Award winners list provides perhaps an even more trustworthy resource for engineering students faced with such decisions.
