Although the Virginia Tech data center has high-bandwidth fiber connections to the National LambdaRail, Internet2, and commodity internet, Blacksburg has an extremely limited selection of residential-class Internet Service Providers. Municipal fiber and T1 were originally deployed by Blacksburg Electronic Village, but BEV no longer accepts new customers.
