Pritchard Hall

Pritchard Hall (PRIT, #31) is a 1016 person dormitory located in the Prairie Community. Originally constructed as and used for many years as an all-male dormitory, the building was converted to co-ed beginning fall 2009. The building itself is clad in Hokie Stone, and was completed in 1967. On May 13, 1968, the building is dedicated to Samuel Reynolds Pritchard Sr.
Pritchard has one of the most colorful histories of mayhem inflicted by its residents, including inflatable swimming pools, wood chip pits, and rumored vending machine defenestration. Pritchard was previously the largest all-male dorm on the east coast, and according to Playboy magazine, more girls lost their virginity there than in any other dorm in the country.
