The Mid-Atlantic Broadband Communities Corporation, formerly known as the Mid-Atlantic Broadband Cooperative operates over 1700 route miles of fiber optic network in southern and southeastern Virginia. They also have an IRU agreement in place with several providers to provide connections to major Internet exchange points in Northern Virginia and Atlanta, Georgia. It was created in 2004[1] to "revitalize the regional economy of Southside Virginia."[2]
