Gobblerpedia differs from Wikipedia in that sources do not necessarily need to be cited. Since we aim to gather original history from students, faculty, alumni, and townies, we realize that printed or online sources may not necessarily be available. Please add (or import from an appropriately licensed source) any information you think might be worth sharing. Be bold. During ; during the initial growth phase, write first and ask questions later. As Leaving off "at Virginia Tech" is an easy way to keep article names short(er). Should this ever be a problem (for guidelinesexample in documentingRadford University), no hard rules are yet in placewe may re-evaluate this precedent.
It is preferable to use proper names as See the the main page list of categories above for an article and redirect with any abbreviations or nicknamesoverview of what's currently available. AlsoIf you don't really know where to start, Virginia Tech is the assumed namespace, if you willthere are several requested pages on our wanted pages list. Leaving off "at Virginia Tech" is an easy way Many of them already exist and just need their content to keep article names shortbe expanded. If you are looking for guidlinesguidelines, Wikipedia's conventions and the University Style Guide are the best starting points.  Work is ongoing on templates that will ease the documentation of common classes of articles, such as courses, textbooks, and departments, but the templates can easily be added to existing material so don't wait on them to add material. If you have experience in creating MediaWiki templates, we invite you to assist in this process. Several infobox templates have been imported from Wikipedia for general use, until more specialized ones can be created. Among the interesting sources we've found are:* That 70s Blacksburg Blog* Internet Archive of BEV.net* Internet Archive of Physics department history page* Library Special collectionsPlease keep in mind that these sources and others may have restrictive usage terms for content and images. If you'wish to re-use content or images, please contact the authors, even if it falls under fair-use. If you can prove thatcontent is public domain (e.g. public records), this stipulation is not an expectation.
