McBryde Hall (MCB, #151) is a Hokie Stone and glass building on the academic side of campus that contains classrooms and offices. It was built in 1971, replacing the original McBryde Hall, built in 1917 and demolished in 1966. The 560-seat auditorium on the front of the building, McBryde 100, was added in 1973, and renovated for several million dollars in 2015.
It houses the Department of Mathematics, as well as the administrative branches of the Department of Sociology, and the Department of Computer Science, and GTAs for the Department of Engineering Education. The first floor has several medium (60-100 seat) lecture halls, and the 2nd and 3rd floors have several smaller classrooms, including some specialized SCALE UP classrooms. The 4th through 6th floors are predominantly offices
