The Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center (CRC), is a science park located south of the main Virginia Tech campus comprising 27 completed buildings totaling 1,000,000 square feet on 120 acres of land. The CRC is located adjacent to the Virginia Tech Airport.
On September 20, 2010, a groundbreaking was held for phase 2 of the Corporate Research Center. [1]

Computer Science Department
Virginia Tech's Computer Science department, which was previously based in Torgersen Hall, was moved here in 2006.
Companies located in the CRC
The CRC currently has 121 tenants and attracts an average of 20 new tenant companies each year. Tenants of the CRC include: the Defense Contract Management Agency, Honeywell Corporation, the Virginia Tech Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Sciences, the National Weather Service, and NewCity.
Bus Service
As of February 24th, between 7:15 a.m. and 9:45 p.m. the CRC Shuttle, operated by Blacksburg Transit, runs on a 15 minute frequency (with zero phase angle), leaving from in front of the Newman Library.
