The Math Emporium or Empo is a large computer lab operated by Virginia Tech. It opened in 1997 with the aim of improving learning outcomes in high-enrollment math courses. Since the fall of 2009, it has had lockers. Some students find the use of Comic Sans on their quizzes and practice material jarring.
