The Linux Laptop Orchestra (L2Ork) is the world's first laptop orchestra to be powered by Linux. Members of the ensemble control a Linux netbook with a wiimote. The audio programming is done in Pure Data. Custom-built, inidvidual, hemispherical speakers send the sounds to other ensemble members and the audience. The project was created, and the ensemble is directed, by Ico Bukvic. It was inspired by the first laptop orchestras, such as the Princeton Laptop Orchestra.
Performances
A 30 minute "sneak peak" performance was given on Friday, December 4th in Squires Student Center's studio theater.
