im.vt.edu is Virginia Tech's internal, non-federated XMPP server, which is used by several students, and many members of the University's Division of IT, especially in NI&S.
One can use it with the XMPP client of their choice, by connecting to im.vt.edu and using their PID and PID Password for their username and password.
This server runs a version of Openfire, a Java-based XMPP server.
